File Conversion

What files can I convert?

ConvertMyFiles.com can convert the file formats listed in the table below to a PDF document, or a TIFF, JPEG, PNG, GIF or BMP image. If you don’t see your file format in the list below, use our contact form to let us know what format you are looking for and we can add it.

What files can I create?

ConvertMyFiles.com currently supports creating, or converting to the following formats.

The created files can be color, greyscale, monochrome (black and white) or optimized by content. If optimized by content is chosen, we will count the number of colors on each page and store that page with the minimal amount of color needed.

What happens to the files I upload?

The files you upload are only kept on our servers until we have completed the conversion. As soon as the file has been converted, either successfully or not, the original source file is deleted. The converted files can only be downloaded by logging into your ConvertMyFiles.com account, and are only kept in your account for the time period specified by your subscription level.

What is the largest size of file that I can upload?

The type of ConvertMyFiles.com subscription that you have determines the size of file that you can upload. The maximum file size is determined by the account, as is shown by the table below.

How many files can I convert or combine at once?

You can upload a maximum of 20 files at a time.

Can I upload multiple files and append them into a single file?

You can upload multiple files and combine them into a single PDF file on the Combine to PDF page. The files are merged in the order that you added them. The name of the new file is taken from the first file in the submitted list. You can merge up to 20 files into a single PDF document. Each combine counts as a single conversion in your account.

How will I get my converted or combined file?

After submitting your file you can see the progress of any current conversion or combine in the My Converted Files table on the same page, or by going to the My Converted Files page. You must be logged in to your ConvertMyFiles.com account in order to see your list of files and to download your new file.

When the conversion or combine has finished successfully, the file will have the status of Converted or Combined and a download link will be available next to the submitted file. If the file could not be converted or combined it will have a status of ERROR and any error information as to why it failed to convert will be listed. A notification email is also sent to the email address entered on the submission form when the conversion or combine is complete.

How long do I have to download my file?

The type of ConvertMyFiles.com account that you have determines how long the converted file is kept available for download. Once the time period has elapsed we delete the file from our servers. Please make sure that you get your file within the time period allotted for your account.

Why did my file fail to convert?

As we support converting many different file formats, there can be many reasons explaining why the conversion failed. The most common reason would be that the file you submitted is password protected or that we don’t support converting that file format yet. In most cases we can tell why the conversion failed and this reason will be displayed next to the file on your My Converted Files page. If you think the file should have converted, please let us know by using our contact form and we can further investigate why the file did not convert.

Why do the fonts look wrong in my converted file?

If your file converted but the text in the file is garbled or looks different from the original document, the problem is usually due to a missing font. You may see this if your document uses custom fonts that you have purchased, or you have on your computer from another software program. You can resolve this by doing one or more of the following:

  • Change the font used in your document to a common font
  • Embed the font used into your document. This can be done with PDF files, and also newer versions of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.

Why didn’t I receive the email notification?

The email notification will come from convertmyfiles@peernet.com. If you did not get an e-mail, please check your SPAM and/or Trash folders. You can always log in to your ConvertMyFiles.com account at any time to check on the progress of your conversion.

Accounts and Subscriptions

Do I need to create an account?

Yes, you do need to create an account with ConvertMyFiles.com in order to convert files. It only takes minutes to register and you have a choice of accounts to meet your conversion needs.

A Copper or Bronze membership is a good starting point when you only have a few documents to convert, or just want to try us out.

A Silver or Gold subscription will give you higher priority conversions, more conversions per month, larger upload sizes and will store your converted files longer.

How do I create an account?

You can create an account by using the popup login that appears when you click on My Converted Files or any of the Convert Files menu items at the top of the page. FAQ-How-to-register-popup You can also click on the Sign-in link at the top of the page, How to create an account from the menu or in the login widget on the right-hand side of each page to create an account. How to create an account from the Login widget On the My ConvertMyFiles.com Account page, provide all necessary data and click the Register button to create your account. If you are purchasing a paid subscription, you will be redirected to PayPal, our payment provider. PayPal accepts a variety of payment methods; you can either pay with your existing PayPal account (if you have one) or alternatively you can pay by credit/debit card. Once your payment has been approved, you will be returned to the ConveryMyFiles.com website.

How can I pay?

ConvertMyFiles.com uses PayPal as our payment provider. PayPal accepts a a variety of payment methods, including all major credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, AMEX and others) as well as debit cards.

How do I login?

Once you have created a ConvertMyFiles.com account, you can enter your username and password in the login widget on the right-hand side of each page, and click the Login button. If you have forgotten your password, you can click on the Lost Password link to have your password reset. An e-mail with your new password will be sent to the address you used when signing up for the account. How do I view my payment invoices?

If you have, or have had, a paid subscription, you can see all of your ConvertMyFiles.com Paypal payments listed in the Your Payment History section on your My Account page.

How can I upgrade my subscription?

Upgrading a Non-Recurring Subscription

A non-recurring ConvertMyFiles.com subscription can be easily upgraded from the Manage My Subscription page. After you have selected your upgrade option, and chosen whether or not to auto-renew your subscription each month, you will then be taken to PayPal to complete the payment transaction. Once you have completed the transaction the upgrade will take effect immediately.

Upgrading a Recurring Subscription

If you have a recurring subscription, you will first need to cancel your current subscription, and then select the new subscription. You can cancel your current subscription by going to the Edit Profile page and clicking on the Cancel your subscription link. This will automatically contact PayPal and cancel the approved payments for your current ConvertMyFiles.com subscription.

Once the payments have been cancelled, use the Renew your subscription link on the Edit Profile page to return to the Manage My Subscription page to choose a new subscription. Once you have selected your new subscription, and chosen whether or not to auto-renew your subscription each month, you will then be taken to PayPal to complete the payment transaction. Once you have completed the transaction the upgrade will take effect immediately.

How can I cancel my subscription?

Only recurring subscriptions can be cancelled. If you wish cancel your recurring ConvertMyFiles.com subscription you can do this through the Cancel your subscription link on your My Account page. You will need to be logged into your ConvertMyFiles.com account to cancel your subscription.
